It's all about you — and your heart.
Love Your Heart! is a major community project taking place across Toronto. The program involves a city-wide community of partners — public health, community health centres, businesses, volunteer organizations, fitness and recreation organizations, boards of education and hospitals, all working together for heart health.
Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in Ontario, for both women and men, so we all have an urgent need to take action and address the lifestyle choices that can make a difference. The Love Your Heart program has identified three key lifestyle choices — quitting or preventing smoking, eating better, and being more physically active. The program addresses these issues through community and volunteer activities: it uses paid advertising and promotion to increase awareness. The program is funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
What can you do to help? Get involved: encourage your company or organisation to become a heart health partner or sponsor. And you and your family can get serious about your own heart health by paying attention to the three key lifestyle choices — your heart will love you for it!
